Archbishop Malcolm visits Our Lady’s

As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of our school, we were delighted to welcome Archbishop Malcolm McMahon to celebrate Mass on Friday 8th November with the full school community of young people, staff and governors, together with Fr Des Seddon and Fr Mike. Children of all year groups were able to participate fully in the Mass, through leading the liturgical music, readings, prayers, presentation of gifts and through a special rendition of the hymn 10,000 Reasons after communion, as the whole of Year 7 led actions while singing. Archbishop Malcolm also presented our young people with their Faith in Action Awards, and presented Mrs Gresty with a special certificate, thanking her for her outstanding service as Chair of Governors over the last 25 years, while looking forward to her ongoing leadership. Mr Fox, unfortunately unable to attend the service, will be receiving a special certificate from the Archbishop, for his outstanding long dedication and commitment as a governor in Our Lady’s school. Archbishop Malcolm completed his visit with a tour of the school, talking to children and staff about their work and life in Our Lady’s. He gave very positive feedback on many aspects of our school and all who met him commented on the way he made them feel at ease and the interest he took in all aspects of Our Lady’s. Following the celebration Mass, staff and children were treated to free pastries, which all enjoyed!
