Behaviour & Safety

behaviourIt is very important to us that our learners and staff feel safe and act responsibly. We take pride in the appearance, behaviour and safety of all our students and we are extremely proud of their reputation for outstanding behaviour in our school and across the community. Our school operates on the principle of restorative justice and we practise forgiveness and strive to live, work and learn in harmonous environment.

The following information provides guidance and links to support that may be of use to you. If you have any issues regarding your personal safety or well-being you can speak to any member of staff. If you are experiencing problems, or are in any type of trouble, you can speak to our School Counsellor, the School Nurse, your Learning Manager, your Form Teacher, a member of the senior team or our Learning Mentor. Should you have issues relating to your personal safety, or if you are concerned about the safety and well-being of another child, please speak to Mr Dunbar or Mrs Poskitt who are our safeguarding officers.There is lots of support available through the local community and you will find links to NSPCC, Childline and the local Police below.

Our school is fully committed to the inclusion of all students and we teach our students about tolerance, respect and working hard to tackle discrimination and social injustices. In 2014, we were reaccredited with the Inclusion Quality Mark and Centre of Excellence Status. In additon, we also achieved the Cultural Diversity Quality Standard. We have an effective Anti-bullying Charter and are fully committed to ensuring our Single Equality Policy is realised. In our school, you have the right to learn in a safe and caring environment, regardless of age, disability, gender, race, religion or belief and sexual orientation. 

Remember - our school Mission Statement is about caring and sharing through which we embrace the core values of love, tolerance, humility, respect, forgiveness and justice.
