Transition from Key Stage 2 to high school can be a daunting experience. We have two dedicated Transition Co-ordinators to help parents and students every step of the way. Our website has a Transition Blog for prospective students to post questions to staff or other students. We also hold Transition Days and additional transition meetings. Our teachers work in a number of local primary schools, offering specialist teaching, to support primary colleagues and also so that students get to know our staff. Our Inclusion Manager also works with local primary schools to make the transition process for potentially vulnerable learners as smooth as possible. You can find a copy of our Transition Handbook by clicking the link below.
In addition to our regular transition events, we also hold six summer schools every year. Two of those summer schools are specifically for primary students, so that they get a feel of our school. In August, we hold a 3 day Year 5 event and a week long Year 6 Transition Summer School. Make sure you get involved. In 2014, we already have 160 children registered to attend our Year 6 event!
