Performing Arts is a thriving Department which aims to nurture passionate, imaginative and creative individuals, who view the world from an artistic perspective.

We develop individuality, encourage students to think and express themselves with confidence and encourage tolerance and understanding of others. We intend students to develop an extensive range of skills as they explore, experiment and create.

Through the Performing Arts curriculum we promote a sense of self-worth, encourages confidence, resilience and develop relationships. Students are encouraged to question and challenge their perception of the world and develop the soft skills employers seek.

We have a dedicated drama space with blackout and specialist sound and lighting facilities. Students are able to sit a GCSE in Drama which is a popular subject and achieves very good examination results.

Recently we have had packed audiences and very successful performances of:

  • Immersion theatre
  • Cinders
  • Oliver

GCSE Visits to the theatre include:

  • The Woman in Black
  • Wonderboy
